INDUCTION

LIGHTING

The latest innovation in lighting is called induction lighting. These lights do not have fillaments or any electrical connection going through the lamp glass. This means that the gas inside the lamp cannot escape through the area where copper connections in traditional lamps go through the glass. This has the effect of extending the life of induction lamps to beyond 10 years or 100000 hours. The energy used to power the lamp is transfered to the lamp by high frequency induction coils.

As part of our energy saving initiative Sightlines 2003 is importing and marketing induction lighting systems.

These lamps offer the following advantages over traditional lighting systems.

1:Very long life.
2:No liquid or mercury in vapour form.
3:No flicker
4:No glare
5:Low temperature thus saving on aircon running costs.
6:Low power requirements. These need 50% of the energy used by traditional lights to give the same output.
7:Instant restart even when hot.
8:Better colour rendition than all metal halide and mercury vapour lamps.
9:Most traditional light fixtures are catered for.
