Polytec specialises in non contact laser based speed and length measuring systems. These systems can be used in place of rotary encoder type systems and offer far higher accuracy right down to zero speed applications.
A common application for example is in the metal rolling industry where the length of the material being rolled needs to be measured on either side of the mill to calculate elongation and mass flow.

As these units can go right down to zero speed they are equally suited for operation on cut to length lines etc.
